Wash in 5 challenge

Launched in April, 2016, Wash in 5 Challenge aims at saving the water here to redistribute it where it is lacking.

Given that a shower lasts on average 9 minutes in France and consumes 100 litres of water, we suggest to the users of the social networks:

  • to take a shower of 5 minutes, to save 40 litres against a standard shower
  • to take a photo when getting out of the shower by making 5 of the hand
  • to post this photo on the wash in 5 challenge’s Facebook page, with the hashtag #washin5challenge.

In every received photo, 40 litres are added to our water saving meter. And every time the meter increases by 10 000 litres, a partner finances an action giving access to the water in India via Kynarou.

“Be a hero, wash in 5!”

Events

We regularly hold cultural programs in France: concerts of live music, photo exhibitions, film screenings… We also organize debates on different topics such as international solidarity, water in India and in the world.

Different artists, who are friends of the association, join us to realize these events.

Funds raised during all events are allocated to our projects in India.

If you wish to be part of Kynarou events performing as an artist, you are most welcome to contact us.

This component of educative actions presents several objectives. In chronological order, the first aim of these actions is the willingness to raise awareness of the crucial subjects of today like the water or waste management. Through the animations proposed, the young have more knowledge about the currents problematic leads to water or waste, they are more conscious and maybe more motivated to change their daily habits, to have a best management of our westerner consummation, in order to preserve better the environment.

The second aim is to awake the young to the world. After have addressed these environmental problematic, the aim is to lead them to think about life conditions, in particular what deal with water and wastes, in others developing countries like India. Thanks to all these various activities about tolerance and struggle against discriminations, but also concrete workshops on environmental problematic in this country, the young are developing openness, understanding of the world and of the associated stakes. Kynarou’s stands and markets

We are taking part in festivals and solidarity markets where introduce Kynarou’s projects in India to the French public. We share our experience with other associations and sell products from our shop.

The funds raised through the sale of our products are assigned to our projects on the field.

The shop

Our stands offer you handmade products manufactured through Kynarou’s development program.

All the products on sale are hand-made in India and respect the standards and the rules of international work. A part of these products is made by the micro credit groups of the villages where Kynarou is implementing its action. A percentage of funds collected by the micro credit groups are given back to the community in order to maintain the hydraulic plants in good condition.

The others products are made by our local partners as the educational and social centres with who we work on the field.

The purpose of this shop is to develop the local economy to perpetuate our actions as well as contribute to the realization of our projects in India.
